Season 18 – Passionate Magic: A Season of Romance and Enchantment
Under the artistic direction of Dr. David Cole, Season 18 features an inspiring blend of orchestral masterworks, contemporary compositions, beloved film music, and a world premiere. From the dramatic power of Bach, Mussorgsky, and Saint-Saëns to the elegance of the Strauss family, the lyricism of Dvořák and Liszt, and the cinematic brilliance of John Williams, Alan Menken, James Horner, and Patrick Doyle, each program has been thoughtfully designed to complement the season’s theme of Passionate Magic. The repertoire also highlights living composers, including James Stephenson III, Lucas Richman, and Leonardo Huerta, whose commissioned world premiere reflects SMART Orchestra’s commitment to supporting today’s composers while honoring the great traditions of orchestral music.
